Terms of Service

1. Purpose
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between SmileOn Labs ("Company")
and users ("Users") regarding the use of the Velo application ("Service").
2. Definitions
- "Service" refers to the Velo photo and video compression application provided by the Company
and all associated features.
- "User" refers to any individual who uses the Service in accordance with these Terms.
- "Paid Service" refers to services that require separate payment, including monthly
subscriptions, annual subscriptions, and lifetime licenses.
- "Guest" refers to a user who experiences limited features without creating an account.
3. Effectiveness and Modification of Terms
These Terms become effective upon notification to Users through in-app announcements or email. The Company may
modify these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable laws, and will notify Users at least 7 days before the
effective date of changes through in-app announcements or email.
4. Description of Service
The main features provided by the Service include:
- Photo compression: Optimization of HEIC, JPEG, and WebP image file sizes
- Video compression: HEVC encoding-based video file size optimization
- Folder scanning: Album-based and month-based file browsing within the device's photo library
- Overnight compression: Automatic compression during nighttime hours (9 PM - 8 AM)
- Compression history: Records and statistics of compression results
All compression processing is performed on the User's device. Photos and videos are never transmitted to the
Company's servers.
5. Service Usage and Accounts
- Users may sign up for the Service through social login via Google or Apple accounts.
- Users may experience limited features in Guest mode without creating an account.
- Users are responsible for maintaining accurate account information and may not transfer or share their
accounts with third parties.
6. Free Service and Usage Limits
- Free (registered) users: Up to 20 images and 3 videos
- Guest users: Up to 5 images, 5 videos, and 1 scan
- Users who exceed free usage limits may subscribe to a Paid Service to unlock unlimited access.
7. Paid Service and Payment
- Paid Services are offered as monthly subscriptions, annual subscriptions, and lifetime licenses.
- Payments are processed through the in-app purchase systems of Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Subscriptions automatically renew according to the billing cycle unless the User cancels.
- Subscription cancellation is available through the subscription management settings of each store. After
cancellation, the Service remains accessible until the end of the current billing period.
8. Refund Policy
Refunds are subject to the refund policies of Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The Company does not process
direct refunds for payments made through the stores. Users must follow the refund procedures of the respective
store.
9. User Obligations
Users shall not engage in the following activities:
- Using the Service for illegal purposes
- Interfering with the normal operation of the Service
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the Service
- Using the Service by misappropriating another person's personal information
- Using the Service to infringe upon the intellectual property rights of third parties
10. Company Obligations
- The Company endeavors to provide the Service continuously and reliably in accordance with applicable laws and
these Terms.
- The Company establishes and adheres to a Privacy Policy to protect Users' personal information.
- The Company makes its best effort to promptly resolve any service disruptions.
11. Service Modification and Suspension
The Company may modify or suspend all or part of the Service for operational or technical reasons. Users will be
notified in advance through in-app announcements or email. In unavoidable circumstances, notification may be
provided afterward.
12. Disclaimer
- The Company does not guarantee the results of compression performed through the Service. Users are responsible
for managing backups of their original files.
- The Company is not liable for service disruptions caused by the User's own actions.
- The Company is not liable for service interruptions caused by force majeure events, including natural
disasters, wars, or telecommunications service disruptions.
- Deletion of original files is performed only with the User's explicit consent. Deleted files can be recovered
from iOS "Recently Deleted" for 30 days. The Company is not responsible for the inability to recover files after
this period.
13. Intellectual Property Rights
All intellectual property rights, including the design, logo, software, and technology of the Service, belong to
the Company. Users may not commercially use information obtained through the Service without the Company's prior
consent.
14. Account Termination and Withdrawal
- Users may delete their account and withdraw at any time through the app's settings.
- Upon withdrawal, the User's personal information is immediately destroyed. If an active paid subscription
exists, the Service remains accessible until the end of the current subscription period.
- The Company may suspend or terminate a User's account after prior notice if the User violates these Terms.
15. Dispute Resolution
Disputes related to these Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. In the event of a
dispute, the court having jurisdiction over the Company's location shall serve as the exclusive court of
jurisdiction.
